Herc Gives Tonight's 24 Four Stars!!

24 2.10 FAQ

What’s it called?

“Day 2: 5:00 PM-6:00 PM.”

Who’s responsible?

Teleplay is credited to David Ehrman (TV’s “La Femme Nikita”).

What does TV Guide say?

“Palmer meets the press to respond to Weiland's report; a tattoo proves a telling clue about who brought the plane down; Miguel hits on a plan to delay his and Kim's return to L.A.; Mason counsels Michelle about her future.”

The big news?

The big news is there’s big news! This episode reveals the key players in the plot against President Palmer.

Jack quickly gains the upper hand on Nina, am I right?

Right. And Nina’s story may have come to an end in the first few minutes of the episode.

Does Palmer come clean to America about the nuclear threat?

“You've been told by a well-respected member of the press, Mr. Ron Wieland that there is an imminent terrorist threat leveled against this country. That is true, so far as it goes. The fact is, we can get a dozen such threats every day. And do I know more about them than I publicly reveal? Of course. What is released to the public, and when is a matter of judgment, and you have elected me to exercise that judgment in the best interests of this country. That's what I've done since I took office. That's what I'm doing today and I can assure you that we have the situation well under control and there is no cause for alarm. Thank you.”

Does the American buy Palmer’s statement? Is Los Angeles consumed by panic and chaos?

Los Angeles is gripped by only its usual amount of panic and chaos.

The tattoo isn’t on Kim’s pert, downy hinder, is it?

No, it’s on the leg of one of the soldiers who attacked Jack after his plane went down. Jack knows the tat is sported by members of an NSA deep cover special ops unit. (Jack knows about it because the group tried to recruit him years ago.) This, of course, makes NSA chief Roger Stanton look extra super guilty.

Miguel’s plan to stay out of L.A.? Does it involve his mastery of Kung Fu?

Nope. It involves a cigarette lighter.

Irony! Does the man without a future really counsel Michelle on hers?

“You know, Michelle, I’m not a big advice giver, but... but under the circumstances don't wait around for your life to happen to you, hmm? Find something that makes you happy-- do it. 'Cause everything else... it's all just background noise.”

Does Michelle act on Mason’s advice?

Yes. She asks Tony out on a date. It turns out they’re not involved yet after all.

Does Sayeed Ali cut off Kate Warner’s head?

Kate Warner’s head is cut.

What’s going on with the Bob & Reza Show?

Bob remains off-camera this week. Reza spends pretty much the whole episode at the Warner offices, accessing computer files.

Do we see a lot of wedding guests milling around the Warner home, wondering what happened to Marie & Reza’s wedding?

I’d enjoy seeing that, but no. And Marie, having calmed down considerably, says something to indicate the marriage may not be off after all.

Does Armus, the secret service fellow last seen escorting Weiland out of his holding room, turn up dead?

Not this week.

Does Weiland shed any light on his own escape?

Weiland, too, is a no-show this week.

Are Jack and Kim reunited?

No.

Do Jack and Kate meet?

They do. Moments after Nina exits the picture, Jack picks up his new travelling companion. Kate will now tag along with Jack because she’s the only one who knows what Ali looks like.

Does Palmer force Lynne Kresge and Sherry Palmer to strip so he can be certain they’re not concealing secret documents?

Lynne sits the episode out, leaving more “alone time” for the Palmers. There’s the tiniest hint that a reconcilation may be in the offing.

How does it end, spoiler-boy?

“You really are very sweet.” BANG!! Ughnnnn! Plop. Ughnnnn! Plop. Ughnnnn! Plop.
