Some More Crazy SUPERMAN Rumors To Chew On...

Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...

Two particularly nutty strains of rumor hit the web in the last few days. First, we’ve had about 50 e-mails that were variations on this theme:

NataliePortman.com reports that Natalie was ofered the part of Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman movie. Go there and check (also take a look at Natalie nipples in her photos at Nicole Kidman award last week)

Ahhh, Nilzo. If you only knew how many other scooper were concerned with the nip... er, I mean the SUPERMAN news. I guess Portman’s a good enough choice, though she seems awful young. I guess that’s the point. Most of the casting choices Warner has considered so far for Supes are on the young side. I’m just surprised they’re not doing more to distinguish it from SMALLVILLE, where you already essentially have actors this age playing the parts.

The other rumor today is just plain loopy. IMDb Pro is the source so far, and many, many readers took the time to write us to say something like this:

Hey Harry,

Love the site just thought I would throw this bit in there...

I was searching IMDB today and, I came to the listing for Superman; it lists Richard Donner as the director for the film now. Is there any truth to this??? I hadn't heard this rumor anywhere. Here's the link from IMDB. If so this is definitely an exciting turn for the project.

If you use any of this just call me Renegade Samurai.

I have no idea what fandom is going to say when dealing with the notion of a Richard Donner directed SUPERMAN film. He’s certainly got the right resume for the flick... ahem... but how is he going to top what he’s already done with the first film? Besides... isn’t he supposed to be doing the GOONIES sequel (which I absolutely guarantee is not and has never been called THE GROONIES, no matter what bullshit you read about it) for Warner Bros. in the near future? I guess I’m having a hard time believing that this is anything more than speculation or someone’s wish list that somehow got updated to the IMDb, but scoops have certainly broken in stranger places. We’ll keep pushing on this one and see what turns up. In the meantime, the Big Blue Boy Scout is still grounded...

"Moriarty" out.
