There was a handsome new character introduced on “Smallville” Wednesday night, presumably designed to trade meaninful looks with Lana Lang and make Clark Kent all jealous again.
So I wake up Friday morning, and there’s like two dozen messages in my email box, all asking the same question:
“Is this guy sniffing around Lana actually Bruce Wayne?”
All the speculation seems to emerge from the name of the dark-haired character, Adam Knight. (Get it? Get it? Adam West? Dark Knight?)
Are the creators just teasing faithful viewers? One keeps hearing about these Time Warner “turf wars” and that Warner Bros.’ movie division won’t let “Smallville” use Bruce Wayne after all because of the Christopher Nolan/Christian Bale Batman feature now underway.
So are “Smallville’s” creators doing an end run around the fans? Or around the studio?
