Austin and L.A. did it, and now Chicago gets its very own SEX DRIVE screening with Clark Duke Q&A!!! Capone has details!!!
Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here.
Some of the free screenings we do in Chicago come to me; others I lobby for. For several weeks, it looked like there was a very good chance that I wouldn't get to throw my own little party for the new comedy SEX DRIVE. They did a big Alamo Drafthouse event in Austin a couple weeks back, and even that devilish imp Moriarty got to have a shindig in L.A. not too long ago. Both events had special guests and wildly enthusiastic crowds that made this already fun film that much more so. Watching the film for the first time reminded me of the experience I had seeing AMERICAN PIE initially: Who are these goofballs, and why are they trying to make me laugh? And then both questions were answered resoundingly. The bottom line is SEX DRIVE is perverse, offensive, and some of the funniest stuff I've seen outside the Apatow universe this year.
And now we're doing a screening of SEX DRIVE that includes a post-screening Q&A with the film's most memorable star, Clark Duke, probably best known for his role as Dale on the TV series "Greek." Duke will also co-star in the big-screen adaptation of KICK-ASS, directed by Matthew Vaughn. The guy is unbelievably great in SEX DRIVE, and from what I hear, he gives good Q&A.
The screening will take place on Tuesday, October 7 at 7:00 pm at the Kerasotes Webster Place theaters, 1471 W. Webster Ave in Chicago. We've got something like 200 seats to fill, so here's how you win:
Send me an e-mail to capone@aintitcoolmail.com with the subject line "DO ME AMISH STYLE". In the body of the email, I need your Name, whether or not you are bringing a Guest (you may bring one guest; I don't need his/her name), and an answer to the following question: What is the craziest thing you have ever done for sex (whether or not the sex actually happened)? If your story smells like a lie, I'm trashing it. KEEP YOUR ANSWERS TO UNDER 75 WORDS!! Winners will receive an email from me, and we'll post the names right here.
This may be the last screening event we do for a few weeks, since the Chicago Film Festival is about to dominate my life later this month. Hope to see you there, and please take note of the location of the screening. We've never done an event at Webster Place before, so give yourself enough time to get there and park. Good luck everyone!
