I am – Hercules.
Natasha Richardson passed away Wednesday, according to a publicist for her family.
She was 45, apparently claimed by a freak accident on a Canadian ski slope.
I’ve been madly, deeply in love with Richardson since “Fat Man and Little Boy,” and thought her crazy good in 1990’s scifi thriller “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
She was Mary Shelley in Ken Russell’s “Gothic” and the title character in Paul Schrader’s “Patty Hearst.” There was also “Nell,” “The Comfort of Strangers,” “A Month In The Country” and “Widow’s Peak.”
Many more will remember her as Lindsay Lohan’s milftastic mom in 1998’s “The Parent Trap” and Caroline Lane in 2002’s “Maid In Manhattan.”
She came from a major showbiz family that included director father Tony Richardson, actress mother Vanessa Redgrave, grandfather actor Michael Redgrave, silent star great-grandfather Roy Redgrave, actress aunt Lynn Redgrave, actress sister Joely Richardson and actor husband Liam Neeson. Our thoughts are with all of her survivors.
