    VENTURE BROTHERS?!?!?

    by ErichZann

Not technically a new season, but come on show some love. This why I hang out on AVclub more and more. They get the geek spirit, not just cut&paste press releases.

  • August 31, 2010 6:15 AM CST

    Finally... SOA and Dexter

    by quintana007

Lets hope they keep it up!

  • August 31, 2010 6:35 AM CST

    speaking of Dexter

    by vin_diggler

Have they announced the cast of this season yet? I loved JOhn Lithgow last season and I hope he makes a cameo or two in this season. Does anyone know the basic plot of this season?

  • August 31, 2010 8:33 AM CST

    vin_diggler

    by MrFusion

Did you see *all* of season 4 of Dexter? I wouldn't hold your breath on a Lithgow cameo, the only ghost we regularly see is Harry.

    "Real Time with Bill Maher"

    Returns Sept. 17.

    Wow

    by The McPoyle Clan

aside from diehard NCIS fans, who's gonna sit through two hours of it every Tuesday night?

And which show will suffer the ignominy of being the first to be shitcanned?

    MrFusion

    by vin_diggler

I did see it all and I understand the difficulty of him "coming back". But perhaps he left a video of his last crime with a message for Dexter. Hell I would even take a flashback scene of Lithgow. There are many ways of bringing him back without making him a ghost.

    Shit My Dad Says?

    by velum

So CBS is going to have a prime time show called "Shit My Dad Says" how did that happen

  • August 31, 2010 2:15 PM CST

    velum

    by JoeD

I think it's %&$# My Dad Says, or something like that. It is a very real example of a developing idiocracy in America.

  • August 31, 2010 2:18 PM CST

    Shit My Dad Says

    by jim

I believe it's listed as $#*! My Dad Says

I really did think they were going to change it to Stuff My Dad Says, as it's difficult to verbally promote the show when one of the words is censored. Bleep My Dad Says? Beep? Blank? The sound of a phone ringing or airhorn to cover it up? The CBS chimes (does CBS have chimes? I know NBC does.)?

  • August 31, 2010 2:23 PM CST

vin_diggler - the Emmys had a total spoiler

    by daggor

They showed a scene that gives away the arc's ending, it you were waiting for Netfix to end you that last disc. In other news, I'm not excited about any of these programs. Lost is over. I'm looking forward to Breaking Bad (I know, I have a looong wait) & Venture Bros. and the new Conan show.

thx for clearing that up for me I was wondering why I had not heard about it haha

  • August 31, 2010 3:03 PM CST

    So now...

    by nico_laos

... I won't have to choose between Fringe and Supernatural like last season.

  • August 31, 2010 4:10 PM CST

Looks like "Chase" loses on Monday at 10:00.

    The Event is awesome

    by RPLocke

I saw it a few weeks ago. It is really good, but with that terrible Chuck lead in, no one will watch it.

  • August 31, 2010 5:07 PM CST

C'mon AICN, no love for the final ep. of Rescue Me EVER?

    by JacksParasites

Not even a post that's just for Talkbacks?

  • August 31, 2010 6:27 PM CST

Supernatural on Frdiays kind of sucks

    by FrodoFraggins

But as nico said, at least I don't have to choose between it and Fringe.

I have lowered expectations for this season of SN. Hopefully it will be more on the fun side since the major arcs are all done.

  • August 31, 2010 7:02 PM CST

RE: the final ep. of Rescue Me EVER

    by Shermdawg

Tonight isn't the final episode, it's got one more season that will coincide with the ten year anniversary of 9/11. They split the final twenty installments into two years.

  • August 31, 2010 8:45 PM CST

My favorite post of the year Herc, thanks!

    by jimbojones123

I stole the whole list and posted it on my blog without any credit to you. Sorry, I am such a selfish jerk.

  • August 31, 2010 10:48 PM CST

    Thanks Shermdawg

    by JacksParasites

Yeah, I just found other people explaining that the second half of the final season is coming next summer. FX didn't really do a good job of explaining that and I could have sworn they called this the series finale.

Community v. The Big Bang Teory?

    by EyeofPolyphemus

That will be a tough choice which to watch live.

  • September 1, 2010 2:39 AM CST

Ooh that is a tough choice.

    by gotilk

    Good thing I DVR everything.

  • September 1, 2010 7:55 AM CST

Also psyched for Community and Sunny

    by DiscoGodfather

Falling back in love with both via DVD and on demand all summer. Can't wait to see how the Joel/Annie storyline plays out (I always liked her better than Britta... must be the little skirts.) But I'm also curious to see how Sweet Dee's pregnancy affects Sunny. I have enormous faith that even (hell, especially) with a child involved that the gang will continue to be the same ignorant, selfish, morally reprehensible douches we've come to love so dearly. Please, PLEASE don't let any of them develop a conscience or actual parenting skills.

    Dying For More Fringe

    by Crow3711

S2 had one of the best cliffhangers in recent memory. The show keeps getting better. It's one of the last awesome scifi shows on now that lost is over. so excited for more. Other Olivia is fucking bangin' hot, and Walternate is awesome. Just wish more people would watch it each week.... If you've never seen it before, go watch White Tulip. One of the most successful hours of scifi ever aired. Fucking amazing.

  • September 1, 2010 11:21 AM CST

Caprica should be on this list.

    Syfy bastids!

All those hours, and so little worth watching.

I've been reading Shit My Dad Says

    by JackSlater4

It's pretty damn funny, so I took a look at the preview on CBS.com because I hadn't seen anything yet and did not realize it was coming out this fall.

I think they blew it. If it absolutely had to be on a network, it should have been done mockumentary with swears bleeped like arrested development, modern family, the office and parks and recreation, not single camera laugh track style.

It also feels like William Shatner is miscast because his line delivery gives off a sense that he knows his dialogue is so good he doesn't really have to try when speaking.

This also could have been wonder years style so we could get all the great stuff from when the kid was young.

I think they could make a movie eventually that more closely adapts the book but is unrelated to the show and it wouldn't be a problem, even if the show is still on the air.

    Crow3711 Speaks the Truth

    by Itchy

I just hope Fringe doesn't start slow, with a bunch of one off "non-arc" stories that suck ass, like they have the first two seasons.

  • September 1, 2010 9:12 PM CST

And "White Tulip" could quite possibly

    by Itchy

be my favorite 1 hour of Sci-Fi since ST:TNG dry humped my brain with "The Inner Light". I hope they have a sequel called "White Two Lips" that features a 5 minute lingering bare twat shot of alternate Olivia.
