John Ary here with a quick look at a few action figure lines that are making headlines this week...
Play Arts Kai Nathan Drake from Square Enix
Uncharted gets an action figure! Nathan Drake is dressed in his Uncharted 3 clothes and comes with a pistol, sub-machine gun, and sniper rifle. He should release in the spring for around $50.
1/6 Scale Samurai Predator from Hot Toys
Is it a Samurai who happens to be a Predator or a Predator posing as a samurai? Either way, this is the first figure from the new Artist Collection for Hot Toys. It features a newly sculpted head and body, detailed accessories, weaponry and a diorama base of Alien’s corpse. It’s available here for $359.99 with an arrival date sometime in the second quarter of 2012. We've also posted more pics of this guy over on the Articulation Times website.
1/6 Scale Black Dragon Ninja from Sideshow Collectibles
Who knew Cobra employed so many different kinds of ninjas? The Black Dragon Ninja features an articulated Prometheus 1.1 body with over 30 points of articulation, a hand-painted head with sculpted fabric style mask, a fabric uniform, rope, detailed sculpted hands, forearm and shin armor, two pairs of boots, 11 interchangeable hands, a Tanto knife with scabbard, Nodachi sword with scabbard, Kyoketsu-Shoge, Six Hira shuriken, AK-74SU assault rifle w/ parastock, silencer, sight and pad, display stand and more. The Sideshow exclusive version will also come with a hand painted scarred head. It’s up for pre-order here for $134.99. Look for it in the second quarter of 2012.
Tiger Flyer with Tygus
The ThunderCats toy line continues to expand with this new vehicle set. As with all of the 4-inch ThunderCats vehicles, the Tiger Flyer uses the ThunderLynx system. When you connect the Tygus figure to the vehicle, the LED light-up feature activates and the eyes on the ship glow red. It will sell for $14.99 next year.
1/6 Scale Superman from Hot Toys
Every week the loyal, yet slightly annoying AICN Toys reader mst3kpimp has condemned this column for not reporting on this amazing Christopher Reeve figure. Even though the figure has been mentioned in other columns on the site, and there hasn’t been anything new to report about the figure in a very long while, every week he continually chastises AICN Toys for not making mention of this item. Maybe its an OCD thing?... I don’t know. Anyway, there is new information to report this week. Superman is now officially available to purchase. This movie-accurate collectible features three interchangeable hands, a cloth costume, a specially-made Fortress of Solitude figure stage, a figure stand and a Sideshow Collectibles exclusive green Kryptonite necklace. A portion of the figure’s sales will benefit the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. It’s up for pre-order here. Hopefully this will satisfy mst3kpimp and he will consider the matter closed.
And finally, Diamond Select Toys goes old school with a figure line dedicated to Universal Monsters and the 8-inch Mego figures from the 1970's and early 80's. We take a look this week at the Frankenstein monster...
Gotcha. I've yet to see toys based on the Elder Scrolls universe.. Although they may exist. Skyrim is clearly a blockbuster now, so I wouldn't be surprised to see toys that follow.... Particularly Dragons:)

itd be so awesome if HT did a proper Evil Superman and include stuff like the fake kryptonite, JD bottle and glass, peanut bowl ,flick finger hand, crushed glasses, car bumper club and a Junkyard background
maybe do it for next summer (Superman IIIs 30th anniversary and also MOSs release date)
The shots shown here are merely the prototype photos used to promote the figure over the last 6 months. The released figure is a dead ringer for Reeve. Check it out

I don't know if your serious but of course Zod and his crew would be welcome although I wouldn't pay for all that. This is my first Hot Toys figure and most like likely the last as I've waited 33 years for a Reeve figure and this exceeds all my expectations. It really is remarkable. But it would be funny if they released lesser players from the films like the suction cup cat burglar or the wacky sherrif and deputy complete with red heat vision gun.
a) cower under your duvet praying the robber just takes the doll and leaves your ass alone...you can always buy another HT Superman Reeve figure
b) leap up out of bed in fighting mode screaming 'YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!' and attacking the thief - grabbing his knife and stabbing him repeatedly 57 times.
c) go back to sleep as it must be a bad dream
i want to know...remember this is someone who is trying to steal your HT Superman Reeve figure like Indiana Jones tries to steal the golden idol at the start of Raiders.
d) call 911 and report there is a man stealing your HT Superman Reeve figure that you waited 33 years for and which exceeds all expectations
e) creep out bed and go to the closet, retrieving the loaded .38 S&W saturday night special with a fully concealed hammer from the top shelf in the shoe box along with the family photos and quietly creep to the guy who is busy stealing other stuff and put the snub nose against the back of his hooded head and say very clearly and precisly 'put the HT Superman Reeve figure back in the box'
f) say 'hey you want a beer?' and then crack open a couple of cold ones with the thief at the kitchen table and discuss the merits of the HT Superman Reeve figure over the Cinemaquette Superman Reeve figure, the D Superman Reeve statue and the Mattel Superman Reeve figure
As soon as I got it I popped a boot off and put in a tracer so if it should ever fall into the wrong hands I just go into "no country for old men" mode. The unfortunate soul I happen upon will then meet a weta William Wallace sword... sad really.
