Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. You know, this is the kind of movie I'm glad to see poke up every once in a while in today's studio system. There's some incredible, visionary franchis filmmaking going on. You can't look at Fox's Apes movies or James Gunn's influence on Guardians of the Galaxy or (love it or hate it) Zack Snyder's on his DC movies and deny that distinct visions are getting to take the reins on these huge tentpole releases.
But sometimes I miss these bigger scale non-franchise stories. Oddly, this under the radar THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US looks bigger in scope and grandeur than Idris Elba's other big movie this year and it's just two people alone on a mountain top.

Looks good, right? And also not as exhausting as most longform stories we're getting with every single movie right now. Weird how refreshing it is to see a trailer like this and think "great, a one and done movie!"
