What’s shakin’, fellow geeks? Big Eyes reporting!
I really wonder what kind of movie “Shazam” will be. Is it for the kids and the whole family? I highly doubt it’ll be rated R like “Deadpool”. Shazam is a kid named Billy Batson that transforms into an adult hero by shouting “Shazam!” I wonder how the movie makers plan to make this whole concept less dorky for the mainstream. Or maybe they don’t have to change anything, since super hero movies have become so accepted today.
Asher Angel has been cast in the role of Billy Batson. Angel is probably best known for his work in “Andi Mack”, a Disney Channel comedy series that has made waves by having Disney’s first LGBT storyline. Angel seems to be rising in fame right now, as he is also in another movie coming out this year titled “On Pointe”.
Also participating in “Shazam” is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Black Adam, Mark Strong as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, and Grace Fulton as a possible friend or love interest. Zachary Levi will be performing as Shazam himself.
Shazam is scheduled for release sometime in 2019.
