One of the films I am most excited about seeing in the coming months is MANDY, the newest film by Panos Cosmatos (director of BEYOND THE BLACK RAINBOW). The insane sounding premise of this thing has a revenge-seeking, battle axe swingin' Nicholas Cage fighting demonic, mutated bikers in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of 1983 A.D. Honestly, I love it already and with the extremely positive festival buzz and the, frankly, surprising Rotten Tomatoes score of nearly 100% (out of 30 reviews), I think my enthusiasm for this one is well placed.
Anyway, I've been dying to see footage from this thing and well today's finally the day! The trailer just dropped. Let's check it out:

The quiet life of devoted couple Red (Nicolas Cage) and Mandy (Andrea Riseborough) takes a dark and bizarre turn when a nightmarish cult and their maniacal leader (Linus Roache) seek to possess Mandy…body and soul. A shocking assault on the innocent pair leads to a spiraling, surreal, bloody rampage of all out, mind-altering vengeance.
RLJE Films will be releasing MANDY in Theaters on September 14th.
