Today Brian Herbert the son of author Frank Herbert tweeted about the upcoming DUNE films. DUNE will be a two-parter movie - with the first film finishing about halfway through the first novel! I wonder if the film will be from the perspective of Princess Irulan as in the book. I would like to see the Bene Gesserit ninja clan and constant human seekers to push the race farther with logic and forethought done correctly.
It would rock to see the Butlerian Jihad and why humans became mental and computer like Mentats even if its a montage. I hope they explore the guilds and families of space and time. The royal families and why they are slaves to the spice and the space guild. Without the spice, all movement in the universe stops. The spice has the power even to bring water to Arrakis the true dream of every Fremen water. I wonder if we will see that. I think that the second film we will have Paul under the green Atreides banner "the Golden Path" will be a scourge across the galaxy.
I am so excited for these films, time to crack open my old copy and reread! What do you guys and gals want to see?
