New AQUAMAN Poster and Black Manta News!

Hola Dannie aqui,

Today brought us the new Aquaman fan made poster and some news about Black Manta's screen debut and DC's plans for the character. CinemaBlend talked with producer Peter Safran. Safran has big plans for Black Manta here is what he told the folks at CinemaBlend.

"We certainly have every intention that Manta plays a very large role in the DC universe. He has to. He's just too great. And we give him his origin story in this movie. We do show how Manta, that we see in the comic books, became that character. And we're so fortunate to have this guy, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, to play him. I don't know if you guys saw The Get Down on Netflix, this guy Yahya is just extraordinary, and he came in, and he auditioned, and we met with him, and it was just a slam dunk."     ------Peter Safran

"We love Manta. From the early days of developing the screenplay, he's just such a great antagonist, and he's such a fan favorite, and the response every time people hear that he's in the movie or that it's confirmed that he's in the movie they're thrilled about it. So we always wanted to give him his storyline, and if Orm is the primary antagonist, then Manta is certainly is a very strong secondary antagonist. There is a connection between Orm and Manta that will be revealed that helps make him a more integral part of the story." ------------Peter Safran

Is Mr. Safran hinting at a Legion of Doom or maybe possibly an Injustice League film someday in the future? Nothing has been announced as of yet, but there was a clue at the end of the Zack Snyders Justice League flick. Who knows? So far Black Manta looks badass, one can only hope that Aquaman will catapult Black Manta repeatedly onto the silver screen!

Injustice League could be impressive. I am keeping my fingers crossed in hopes that Aquaman will be a box office hit and a sign of better and better DC films to come. Please, Posiden bless this film because I want more Black Manta and DC geeks need a win other than Wonderwoman, also the new Joaquin Phoenix film is looking promising. What do all of you out there in Geeklandia think? I can not wait to see Aquaman on December 21st!

Stay Strong, Live Good, Love Movies!
