Previously, we had written about all of the spin-offs from Taika Waititi's 2014 hit mock documentary about vampires, WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, here.
At that time the biggest one that stood out was the FX Network series. At the time we believed it to be a remake of the original film but we have since learned that the series will co-exist with the original film and it's spin-offs WELLINGTON PARANORMAL and the upcoming WE'RE WOLVES in a 'shared universe' scenario.
The FX series will focus on a small group of vampires sharing an apartment in Staten Island, NY. The pilot was directed by Waititi and written by Jemaine Clement, who also wrote and starred in the original film. The series stars Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillen and Mark Proksch.
WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS: the series is set to debut in the Spring of 2019 and in preparation for that, FX has released the following three teasers.
What do you guys think? Personally, I love what I see so far. It really feels like they've captured the spirit of the film. Also, I am always up for more Matt Berry in my life. Let us know what you think.
