Hola Dannie aqui,
Today Voltage Pictures released a trailer for Joe Berlinger's "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile" a film about the life and crimes of the charismatic and notorious serial killer Ted Bundy. Joe Berlinger is an outstanding director some of my favorite of his films are "Brothers Keeper," "Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills," "Paradise Lost 2: Revelations," "Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory," "Crude," "Whitey: United States of America v. James J. Bulger," "Unspeakable Crime: The Killing of Jessica Chambers," and now on Netflix "Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes." Berlinger as a director revels in the realm of documentary filmmaking, so this leads me to believe this Bio-pic will be well grounded in facts, and Berlinger will likely push the actors to bring about emotional and insanely intense performances. Yes, I am a huge fan of Berlinger, if you haven't seen "Brothers Keeper" do so, it is a phenomenal film, in every freaking way it will leave you speechless.
"Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile" stars Zac Efron as Ted Bundy, the casting is right the hell on, just look at the above photo and let those shivers travel up your spines. Alongside Zac Efron ("The Greatest Showman," "Hairspray," and "High School Musical") are Lily Collins ("Mirror, Mirror," "Love Rosie," and "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones"), Kaya Scodelario ("The Maze Runner," "Pirates of the Caribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" and "The Truth About Emanuel"), John Malkovich ( "Being John Malkovich," "In The Line of Fire," and "Dangerous Liaisons"), Jim Parsons (Sheldon from "The Big Bang Theory" and "Garden State") and Haley Joel Osment ("The Sixth Sense," "Second Hand Lions," "Pay It Forward," "Izzy Gets the Fuck Across Town," and of course Steven Spielberg's "A.I.")
Voltage Pictures describes "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile" as-
"1969. Ted (Zac Efron) is crazy-handsome, smart, charismatic, affectionate. And cautious single mother Liz Kloepfer (Lily Collins) ultimately cannot resist his charms. For her, Ted is a match made in heaven, and she soon falls head over heels in love with the dashing young man. A picture of domestic bliss, the happy couple seems to have it all figured out … until, out of nowhere, their perfect life is shattered. Ted is arrested and charged with a series of increasingly grisly murders. Concern soon turns to paranoia—and, as evidence piles up, Liz is forced to consider that the man with whom she shares her life could actually be a psychopath. This is the story of Ted Bundy, one of the most notorious serial killers of all time. Collins shines as Liz, while Zac Efron gives a performance that could redefine his career. Renowned filmmaker Joe Berlinger, best known for his true-crime documentaries, proves to be the perfect match to bring this Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile true story to the screen."
Here is the trailer for "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile."
Well, the trailer worked for me, how about all my fellow morbidly maniacal true crime junkies out there in cyber space? For me this film is a definite must-see, perfect casting, a director I respect and subject matter that gripped the United States of America by the throat in 1969 and has yet to let go. "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile" is set to traumatize audiences at the Sundance Film Festival tomorrow, I can not wait to hear the reactions! Also, I have to send kudos to Zac Efron for tackling this role. Women and men will not be looking at you the same after this film, and this is one helluva way to break out of the pretty boy box. So kudos Zac I wish you luck with this role and those in the future, this part took courage to take. Dare I say it took big brass balls.
Stay Strong, Live Good, Love Movies!
