DAUGHTER OF DISMAY

Freddy here with a teaser for a short film shot on 70mm IMAX, titled DAUGHTER OF DISMAY.

Not a lot to go on there, while implying an entirely larger vision.

The plot tells the story of a broken down woman who enters the forbidden woods to fulfill her biggest desires.  What follows is a world of witchcraft and occultism, that is much more relatable than the ‘witches’ we typically see on screen.

James Quinn (FLES OF THE VOID) directs with Justin Schnenck (SWORDFISH) producing.

Composer Joseph Bishara lends the haunting tunes.  Sound engineer Steve Maslow (THE THING/THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK) and foley artist Martin Langenbach’s (THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE) talents are also utilized.

DAUGHTER OF DISMAY will premiere on the festival circuit this year with a hopeful theatrical run at the end of 2019.

I’m always up for a new take on an old legend.  Witches have the most wide open space to play with also.

I loved the sullen tone of the teaser we got.  It’s beautifully shot and with Steve Maslow editing, I have zero worries about sound.  This sure feels like a winner.  The biggest questions I have is how long is it?   I couldn’t find that info anywhere.

Who’s going to seek this one out?

Til next time Kids
