I’ll be honest, I didn’t really like the original FROZEN at first. The story that it was based on, The Snow Queen, was very different and I was a bit miffed that they strayed so far from the original content, as it was a childhood favorite of mine. However, I gave it another watch and took it as an original creation by itself instead of an Ice Queen story, and changed my mind. FROZEN started the beginning of the subversive wave of our expectations in movies centering around things like “true love’s kiss”, and what a prince/romantic interest should like. It deserved all of the love and praise it deserved, though I still don’t think “Let it Go” was a great song, but the message was clear and utterly relatable because everyone has that “fuck it all moment”.
So yes, I am pretty stoked for the upcoming sequel simply known as FROZEN 2. Let’s take a look at the long awaited first trailer!
Well, this isn’t what I was expecting at all, but it still looks awesome!! It appears that they will be giving us an epic of a movie in the sequel. Everything is so serious, with that panel zoom out overlooking the land, you can just tell that they are on a sort of journey. The opening of this teaser trailer with Elsa “taking on the ocean” (which the animation is freaking beautiful on the water, holy hell), gives me the impression that this movie will be about a search for the Princesses’ parents who supposedly died at sea and not many more details was given to us about that.
We can clearly see a huge upgrade in the animation and design for this sequel. The water, the scenery, the their hair, all are looking much better this time around.
November can’t come soon enough!
