Ken with cool news on a HELLRAISER revival via Variety.
Gary Barber’s Spyglass Media Group has David S. Goyer (THE DARK KNIGHT) on board to produce and write the new incarnation of HELLRAISER.
This will mark the first project for the new, once again, Spyglass Group.
HELLRAISER in 2019, has turned into limitless and unimaginative sequels, following a steady stream of characters that play with the Lament Configuration to find pleasure and/or pain beyond the imagination.
While the original was more about Frank and his desire to live an incestuous life in his brother’s skin. The Cenobites have become the story over time, or more correctly Pinhead has. Dispensing their justice in the form of pain, holding their captives in their own eternal hells. Pinhead was the leader and for good reason, the rest lacked charisma. One has a coat hanger in her neck, another is a slimeball, and one won’t stop chattering. Nope, the one with nails in his head is the leader and is named Pinhead instead of Nail head.
Which begs to question, will Doug Bradley be involved here?
Personally, I think HELLRAISER would benefit immensely from a remake. I loved the original and its direct sequel. As long as it largely sticks with the practical effects I think I’d still love a remake.

What’s your favorite movie in the franchise so far?
For me personally, it’s HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER II, I think it’s one of those rare sequels that’s better than its predecessor. I love the original HELLRAISER, I just prefer the bat-shit crazy sequel.
Whom would you like to see as a new Pinhead? Or are you like me, and can’t see beyond Doug Bradley?
