Distance 27 million kilometers.” Burnham and Lorca have been summoned to Emperor Georgio’s s[ace-palace, where they hope to learn how the USS Defiant found its way to the mirror universe – information that could help them return home.
Is Burnham’s gift for the emperor a Hickory Farms summer sausage basket?

If Burnham kills the emperor, does she become the new emperor?
Maybe? We learn that though Mirror Burnham was not raised by Sarek, she nonetheless was not raised by her biological parents.
Does Burnham become the emperor this week?
No.
Does Stamets bicker with his doppelganger?
Yes. Imperial Stamets grows impatient with his Federation counterpart.
Does Saru need L’Rell to deal with Ash/Voq?
Yes. Saru keeps hearing Ash screaming stuff in Klingonese.
Does this show still suck?
It still contends for the worst Star Trek series to date, but tonight brings the best STD episode to date.

What’s good?
Rhe incorporation of the USS Defiant, making tonight’s episode an sequel to both 1968’s “The Tholian Web” and 2005’s “In A Mirror Darkly.” (Does Emperor Georgio descend from Emperor Sato?? In a 2009 Trek novel “The Sorrows of Empire,” the Sato dynasty continues for a century before Goatee Spock uses the Tantalus Device to gain control of the Terran Empire.)
What’s not so good?
The boring Klingons are still boring. And there’s this other thing that seems to place this episode out of continuity with all the other mirror episodes on “Star Trek,” “Deep Space Nine” and “Enterprise.”
