April 13 is when we get the first season of “Lost in Space.”
Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless are the writers behind the Netflix reboot of CBS’ 1960s space opera, which followed a family of scientists who couldn’t quite figure out how to get to Alpha Centauri.
Sazama and Sharpless’ big-screen writing credits include “Dracula Untold” (which garnered positive reviews from 22% of critics polled by the Rotten Tomatoes website), “The Last Witch Hunter” (15%) and “Gods of Egypt” (16%).
The fabulous Parker Posey (“Dazed and Confused,” “Coneheads,” “Waiting For Guffman,” “House of Yes,” “You’ve Got Mail,” “Superman Returns,” “Café Society”) will play the duplicitous Dr. Smith.
Molly Parker (“Deadwood,” “Swingtown,” “House of Cards”) will play science mom Maureen Robinson in the series. Toby Stephens (“Black Sails”) will play husband John, Taylor Russell (“Falling Skies”) daughter Judy, Mina Sundwall (“Maggie’s Plan”) daughter Penny and Max Jenkins (“Sense8,” “Popstar”) son Will.
