Hello all, Mad Dashiell here and thank you for joining me today. "This is a warning, not a distress call." NIGHTFLYERS is a 1980 novella by George R. R. Martin. It also had a life as a 1987 science fiction-horror film based on the same novella. Looks like the prolific writer's story is gonna get the reboot treatment, let's take a look at the trailer below. -
The series will have Phillip Rhys(DR. WHO), Gwynne McElveen(VIKINGS), Miranda Raison(MY WEEK WITH MARILYN), David Ajala(JUPITER ASCENDING), and one of my favorites Gretchen Mol(THE THIRTEENTH FLOOR).
Alright then, well it looks like it has all the trimmings for a full helping of a sci-fi thriller. Those themes tend to pair themselves perfectly though at times we are just left with some lifeless astronaut food to chew on. The 87 version was fun and I see how they could take it a bit further, especially in the FX department. I think what we have going for it the most is the fact it will be a series this time. Let's see if SYFY network does the project justice. It certainly won't be a brutal as HBO's GOT, of course, but I'll be there tuned in to Mr. Martins new sci-fi frequency with bells on.
