Chris deFaria, President of DreamWorks Animation Film Group, announced a new deal! Guillermo del Toro, who took home two lovely Oscars earlier this year, has just signed a contract with Dreamworks Animation. Del Toro will be writing, producing, AND directing family animations for multiple years!
Del Toro currently has created and is the executive producer of the ongoing series TROLLHUNTERS, I tried watching an episode a while back and lost interest, but perhaps I should give it another go! TROLLHUNTERS is a part of the TALES OF ARCADIA TRILOGY, including 3 BELOW and WIZARDS. 3 BELOW will premier later this year, and WIZARDS will come out later in 2019.
Is Del Toro the new Spielberg? He has found great success in both live action movies and animation these days! He actually was a creative consultant for KUNG FU PANDA 2, AND MEGAMIND. Del Toro also executively produced RISE OF THE GUARDIANS, PUSS IN BOOTS, and KUNG FU PANDA 3.

It seems that Mr. Del Toro is pretty hot right now in Hollywood, hopefully beyond 2018, he will have more great years to come entertaining the world!
