Hello All, Mad Dashiell here and thanks for joining me today!
B.O.O.N.E. that spells Moon. Where we left off last time was with director Josh Boone(THE FAULT IN OUR STARS) strolling with Dante through the bowels of reshoot hell for his horrific vision of X-MEN: THE NEW MUTANTS. He also let the cat out of the bag relating to his four-film adaptation of Stephen King’s THE STAND. However, the blips of updates seem more comparable to Schrödinger's cat. The project seems dead with the gas from bio-modified influenza within the box, yet we keep hearing the project is still alive. Like the hand of God in Stephen Kings Universe, for better or worse, he will not give up on taking THE STAND. We are now hearing that the project is coming together as a ten-hour limited series under the CBS All Access banner.
Many fans might find heavy disappointment with the news of a shortened format for the massively long novel. We already have a neutered, if still occasionally ok, version of THE STAND with the four-part miniseries ABC did in the 90s. Most feel that the material absolutely demands an adaptation not limited by the scope of any network television and the long-form series is really the only way to go with King’s 1,200-page post-apocalyptic masterwork.
Worthy Note: CASTLE ROCK is still reportedly in the works.
