Hey folks... the final, extended trailer for MARVEL'S CLOAK AND DAGGER dropped today, in case you missed it!
It shows a lot of interesting things, some of which disappoints me. I do like moving the story to New Orleans, and I even like their connecting Cloak and Dagger's mythology with that of New Orleans. Both Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph look good in their roles, and those shots of Aubrey in the cloak beside the Roxxon sign really tickled me.
As to my regrets.... one of the things I loved about the comic book was the young love story between Tyrone and Tandy, that they were kidnapped runaways... that they were exploited and fought back, and became the saviors of other runaways. Their love story appears to be something they'll have to work up to over time. And although Tandy seems like a runaway, it doesn't look like Tyrone is one. And their powers don't seem to be really Cloak and Dagger yet. It all feels a bit first season "Smallville".
I hope I have that wrong... I'd love for this to be great. MARVEL'S CLOAK AND DAGGER premieres on FreeForm Thursday, June 7.
