Hello all, Mad Dashiell here and thanks for joining me today. Good news for old and new Swamp Thing fans, writhing fingers of green-man crossed. The DC Universe is wisely joining the streaming service bandwagon. The first show they announced to be released is a live-action Swamp Thing series. The Swamp Thing team being tapped seems to be no stranger to HORROR!
SWAMP THING TEAM-
Verheiden and Dauberman are the showrunners and writing the live-action drama based on DC characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson(God of Horror comics for over 70 years). Mark Verheiden of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, NETFLIX's DAREDEVIL, ASH VS EVIL DEAD and another dark DC diddy -CONSTANTINE, Michael Clear a dark mind behind ANNABELLE: CREATION, Gary Dauberman also on ANNABELLE: CREATION as well as heralding our darkest fears in IT, and executive producer James Wan is CONJURING, AQUAMAN.
The property has been adapted multiple times over the years, including a 1982 feature written and directed by Wes Craven and based on the character created by Wein and Bernie starring Ray Wise. Fox debuted a ridiculously forgettable(Though not that catchy theme song they played every few seconds) Saturday morning cartoon that spawned its own toy-line. (Jim Wynorski directed the 1989 sequel.) USA Network aired a live-action TV series from Joseph Stefano running three seasons back in 1990.
