Hola Dannie aqui,
Tonight I feel like paying tribute to the true hardcore fanboys turned creators of old. These men were awesome all of them. Let us begin with Groucho Marx and his brothers, combine that with Ray Bradbury and his brethren.
Bradbury's being Ray Harryhausen and Forrest J. Ackerman their bestie friendship began with a timeless group of friends via the cinema as youngsters, one everyone strives for via brotherhood/sisterhood of geekdom. I knew Bradbury, Harryhausen, and Uncle Forey. Forey better than the rest by far, I really considered him an Uncle he was the sweetest of the three. Today I found something I find amazing for true geeks, those that search for any moment of pop culture love via the absolute beginning of the fad of film fans, not just of the stars but as well as those behind the camera these were your guys back in the hay day of classic Hollywood. This story I think is geek worthy of those seekers who wish to learn a bit of fandom history-
So, back in 1955, the comic genius Groucho Marx had one of the absolute masters of science fiction writing, author Ray Bradbury on his show. I included the above photo of Bradbury, Harryhausen, and Uncle Forey as well as the below to illustrate the goofy geekdom that has no age and in itself is timeless fun.
Here is "You Bet Your Life" with Groucho and Bradbury via 1955... Who wins, let us see!
I love Bradbury's confidence and when....... SPOILER.... no watch the damn video.....
I love that
SPOILER-------------
Groucho won the trivia battle sorta. Bradbury that i knew was always nice however very very sure of himself, its always nice to see someone you hero worship made human, a time or two!
Hope you all enjoyed this little throwback to the badassery of yesteryears! If not....let the hate flow! I prefer Love, Love, Love but whatever-
