Morning geeks, Big Eyes here!
The DEADPOOL 2 promos just don’t fucking stop! We were greeted this morning with this touching music video featuring Céline Dion and Deadpool! Though I wonder if that is actually Ryan Reynolds in there doing the dance in those heels. It’s definitely him there at the end!
I found myself strangely moved by Deadpool’s sensual dance and Céline Dion’s voice. It’s been a while since I thought about her, at least not since the few years following the release of TITANIC. It took far too long to get “My Heart Will Go On” out of our heads!
I watched this with Comics Chad. He had some to say things to say about it too off the top of his head, actually having read some Deadpool comics. He made some good observations.
Comics Chad:
“I noticed that at 1:21 the kid has what looks like a vampire bite on his neck. They haven’t really explained why Cable comes back in time to kill this kid. The story may have something to do with Apocalypse and Stryfe. Stryfe is a clone of Cable and he is raised by Apocalypse to be Apocalypse’s new vessel. I’m not implying that the kid is Stryfe, because it doesn’t really make sense. The kid doesn’t look like Cable at all, and second Stryfe was supposed to be raised in the future at the same time as Cable. This music video was rather thematically appropriate because both Deadpool, Wade Wilson, and Céline Dion are Canadian! I thought it was pretty cute that Céline Dion called Deadpool Spiderman!”
