The feature debut of music-video director Geremy Jasper, “Patti Cake$” was released to cinemas Aug. 18 and received positive reviews from 79% of “top critics” polled by the Rotten Tomatoes website.
The star-studded season finale of SNL, as usual, was Saturday’s top scripted show and top broadcast in late night or primetime. Across the week it beat “The Voice,” “American Idol,” “Survivor,” “Empire,” “NCIS” and every other primetime finale except for “Grey’s Anatomy” (which SNL tied) and “Roseanne.”
