Today we received an email from Fox Searchlight containing a trailer for "The Old Man & The Gun." The film is based on the true story of Forrest Tucker (Robert Redford) who escaped San Quentin at the ripe old age of 70 years old, and the string of heists that confused authorities, and enthralled a nation. Detective John Hunt (Casey Affleck) while investigating Tucker gains an intense interest in the outlaw's methods and craft. Actress Sissy Spacek plays the part of Jewel Forrest Tucker's romantic interest in the film. The films cast is quite remarkable joining Redford, Spacek, and Affleck are Danny Glover, Keith Carradine, Tika Sumpter, Tom Waits and John David Washington.
"THE OLD MAN & THE GUN" is directed by David Lowery who brought us "A Ghost Story" and "Pete's Dragon" and will be released to select theaters on October 5th of this year. I am always interested in films based on true crimes, and the cast is epic. I can not wait to see this one! How about y'all?
