Freddy Beans here with some new posters for THE MEG due in theaters August 10th.
I’ve been avoiding this one because JAWS is one of my favorite movies ever and they just don’t make shark movies like they used to. That said, I’m slightly leaning towards maybe wanting to like this one slightly. The images are exactly what I expect. A lot of missed opportunity.
I do love the one with Statham in the water with a worthless spear gun, enormous teeth in the background!
However the one with THE MEG eating a human sized mason jar is bad in so many ways. The MEG looks about half the size here, barely able to hold a human sized jar where clearly he can eat 10 Stathom’s in the opposite image. Isn’t a mason jar supposed to be airtight? The teeth look whittled down like this MEG shores his teeth down chomping on wood a la a beaver or rat. And gotta love the Aquaman hero swimming in to the save the day with his super air bubbles.
OK, enough negativity, truth is I’ll run to the theaters in case it’s good just like I did with THE SHALLOWS (Fun movie but nothing close to serious, which pretty much hurts the entire intent of a horror movie)

Is anyone out there looking to check this one out? I’m just not sure how I’m supposed to feel about this one honestly.
