Freddy Beans here with news on a new Muppet movie to terrorize us in a CHILD’S PLAY remake.
MGM has the rights once again to the CHILD’S PLAY franchise. UNIVERSAL brought us all of the sequels. David Katzenberg & Seth Grahame-Smith of IT fame will produce.
Tyler Burton Smith who wrote KUNG FURY 2 (I honestly can't wait for that one, though I have great fear the concept burns out in a full-length feature film) wrote the script for our new Good Guy doll film.
Lars Klevberg will direct in his sophomore effort after POLAROID.
If you were keeping count, then I think this is part 8 for the franchise. That said, this franchise is in desperate need of a reboot if Charles Lee Ray has one more spell left in him. I wasn’t a fan of the humorous tilt the movies took in the end. Yes, CULT OF CHUCKY had some of the darker aspects I prefer, but it was weighed down trying too hard to tie everything together. AKA I like the original and sequel and then it’s a slow snowball downhill for me.
I’m a little worried about Tyler Burton Smith writing this one, it needs to be dark man. Come on!
