San Diego Comic Con is rapidly approaching and we are starting to get details of some of the panels and events that will be taking place. One of those is the annual SIMPSONS panel (happening July 21st).
To promote the event, FOX will be distributing an exclusive poster promoting the 29th TREEHOUSE OF HORROR episode of the incredibly long-running animated series. Let's check it out.
I love it! Of course, I'm one of those guys who still think THE SIMPSONS, while very uneven, still has merit even after all these years. I never miss an episode. Regardless of that though, this episode is going to have Cthulhu in it! That's pretty cool. Here's a brief plot synopsis.
Homer wins an oyster-eating contest against the mythical Cthulhu. Springfield is overrun by plant body-snatchers, Lisa finally snaps, and Mr. Burns opens a retirement home with some Jurassic upgrades.
The episode will be written by series stalwart Joel H. Cohen and directed by Matthew Faughnan.
It has no set air date yet but the season 30 (!!!) premiere is set for September 8th on FOX.
What do you guys think? Think the show still has life in it? Think it needs to be put down like a zombie that just won't stop? Let us know... or you can just quote your favorite SIMPSONS bits which will probably be more fun anyway.
