SONS OF ANARCHY was the flagship show for the FX network during its entire run. So, it's no surprise that the cable network would want to stay in business with series creator KURT SUTTER, who also played an instrumental part in the success of the networks first big hit THE SHIELD.
Despite stumbling with their last project, the poorly received BASTARD EXECUTIONER, FX and Sutter are back again ready to unleash MAYANS M.C. on to television audiences.
The hour-long drama series follows the exploits of the Hispanic outlaw motorcycle club, and rivals to the Sons of Anarchy, the Mayans. The show has been in production for a while as the pilot episode went through a few cast revisions before being completed and picked up.
Here is the synopsis:
MAYANS M.C. takes place two-and-a-half years after the events of SONS OF ANARCHY and will focus on the struggles of Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes (played by JD Pardo), a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California/Mexico border. EZ is the gifted son of a proud Latino family, whose American dream was snuffed out by cartel violence. Now, his need for vengeance drives him toward a life he never intended and can never escape

I don't know about this one, guys. It feels like really well-worn territory after so many seasons of SONS OF ANARCHY (and a lot of those were of questionable quality).
What do you guys think? Interested? Let us know… or you could just talk about which episode of THE SHIELD is your favorite.
MAYANS M.C. premieres on FX September 4.
