Hey folks... looks like Joel and Ethan Coen are planning THE BALLAD OF BUSTER SCRUGGS for release just in time for Christmas!
Hercules reported on the initial concept back in January of last year, a mini-series the Coens wrote and would direct themselves... originally a mini-series for Netflix.
THE BALLAD OF BUSTER SCRUGGS has, since that report, been crafted into a feature film for Netflix-- a one-viewing, 132-minute western made up of multiple chapters, telling the tale of Buster Scruggs (Tim Blake Nelson) in short vignettes, with a cast including Tyne Daly, James Franco, Zoe Kazan, Stephen Root, Saul Rubinek, and Tom Waits.
Can't wait to see the Coens tackle a western all of their own invention! Here's hoping it will be as weird, wonderful and funny as their best stuff.
