The agents of Chrises Pine and Hemsworth (both actors are represented by CAA) are reportedly walking their clients away from the (non-Tarantino) Star Trek movie that would have united James Kirk and father George Kirk for the first time.
Paramount, which reportedly lost money on the Simon Pegg-scripted “Star Trek Beyond,” is said to be trying to get Pine and Hemsworth to take pay cuts.
Both actors already make tons starring in comic-book movies based on DC's Wonder Woman and Marvel's Thor characters.
This could of course precipitate a reboot, with new actors playing not only the Kirks but also Chekov, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu and Bones.
Or. If the George Kirk movie (which aleady sounds really cheap, with a director and screenwriters who have never made a movie before) were abandoned, would Pine take a pay cut to work on the separate Trek movie Quentin Tarantino is developing? (I would.)
