Freddy Beans here with a kick-ass trailer for the new HALLOWEEN.
As I watched that trailer, it was akin to walking on an old baseball field. The nostalgia just hit me hard precisely when he opts for the kitchen knife over the hammer. Maybe it was his theme music? Maybe it was hearing Dr. Loomis speak once again. Either way, I’m unable to contain my excitement for this thing anymore.
What we know at the moment is this HALLOWEEN will take place 40 years after the first film. All the other sequels are ignored for storytelling purposes. It looks like Laurie has become a Linda Hamilton’esque character from TERMINATOR 2, meaning a bad-ass looking for the fight.
It’s my opinion that Michael Myers is the king of the bad guys. Sure most folks recognize a ‘Saw is Family’ Texas clan, hockey mask, and bladed glove over the old William Shatner masked one, but for me, there’s no comparison. Michael is pure evil and unstoppable. Sorry, Laurie, I know you’re probably set up to win here, but the odds are not ever in your favor.
Did anyone else watch this trailer with the nostalgia nipping at the nape of their neck?

David Gordon Green (PINEAPPLE EXPRESS) directs this installment off a screenplay he co-wrote with Danny McBride. (does Danny sleep? He’s in freaking everything lately) John Carpenter isn’t really mentioned on IMDB, but Mr. McBride made it clear John was involved in every step of creating this film. He also added, there was a chance John Carpenter would do the score. HALLOWEEN fans have to like hearing that.
The trailer didn’t scare me at all. It did, however, leave me super excited to see HALLOWEEN which has to be its intent.
October 19th Michael Myers is scheduled to visit us once again for what looks to be an epic HALLOWEEN night.
Til next time Kids
