Today actor Shane West teased fans with a Tweet about his new character on the fifth and final season of "Gotham." West has been cast to play one of Batman's most brutal foes, Bane. From the photo he shared on Twitter we get a glimpse of a piece of Banes wardrobe, a single solitary glove alongside a script entitled "SAVAGE," and a sweet comedically addressed to-go box of Bane/Shane grub.
The importance of this glove? It is a tip of the hat to the characters comic book beginnings. That may lead one to believe that they are staying truer to Bane's origin than prior live-action interpretations such as the non-enhanced bat-breaker in "The Dark Knight Rises" Bane and overly venom (that is what they call the drug Bane's dependent upon) pumped version in the shit show that was "Batman & Robin." I adore this show, and it is saddening that this will be the last season, I had hoped we would have it for many more years to come. However, this does not lessen my curiosity, and I am eager to see how they end it. What do all of you out there in Geeklandia think of Shane West being cast as Bane and his tantalizing Tweet?
