Tonight’s installment of CBSAA’s “Short Treks,” set 1,000 years after the events of “Star Trek Discovery,” was co-written by Michael Chabon, who co-scripted also 2012’s big-screen space adventure “John Carter.” Chabon, who won the Pulitzer for fiction 17 years ago, joined the staff of “Star Trek Discovery” after its showrunners were sacked earlier this year.
