The movie hasn’t even come out yet and Sony is already putting all of their spider-ducks in a basket!
First: Joaquim Dos Santos, of AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER has been tapped to direct a sequel to INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE, Hollywood Reporter reported.
Second: Lauren Montgomery who has worked on VOLTRON and co-directed animated movies BATMAN: YEAR ONE and SUPERMAN/BATMAN: APOCALYPSE FOR DC is in negotiations to helm an all female Spider-centric spin-off. It will probably include Gwen Stacy/Spider Gwen/ Spider Ghost, Madame Web, Spider Woman, and Spider Girl.The project is currently untitled, but I think it needs more hyphens in it. Bek Smith (ZOO) is penning the script.
Amy Pascal, producer of INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE and the live action movies returns to produce both projects!
