Hayao Miyazaki has retired and come out of retirement a number of times. He smokes like a chimney, has been known to be a bit of a perfectionist who hates modern anime and has recently be labeled “the never-ending man” in a documentary about him. His son, Goro Miyazaki, “reluctantly” took over directing for Studio Ghibli during one of Hayao’s retirements to take on TALES FROM EARTHSEA and UP ON POPPY HILL.
French Producer Vincent Maraval, known for BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOR, has made a claim on twitter that father and son Miyazaki are now working on not one, but two new projects together! And Maraval is pretty overcome by the idea.
If you couldn’t surmise what google translate couldn’t figure out: incroyable = incredible.
Whatever these projects are, we’ll find out soon and keep you guys updated!
