Watch the "GRETA" Trailer. Are You Taking The Bait?

Hey Movie Lova’s, Sam here to talk about the up and coming horror flick titled, GRETA!

GRETA stars Chloe Grace Moretz as Frances McMullen a young New Yorker who is not a native to the city but is seemingly naive to the many “hustles” one can find there.  While riding the subway, Frances finds an unclaimed purse, and like a Good Samaritan, she wants to return it to its rightful owner.  Mmmhmmm, young Frances took the bait.  Here is where the talented Isabelle Huppert enters as GRETA, a lonely elderly French widow who offers her a cup of tea.  The groundwork has been laid, the mouse took the bait, and GRETA gets to insert herself into Frances life.  Frances will go on a journey where she discovers nothing is what it seems with GRETA, and things just seem to unravel from there.  Check out the trailer:

GRETA is expected to hit theaters on March 01, 2019.  The film was directed by Neil Jordan who also co-wrote the screenplay with Ray Wright.  The movie genre is noted as a drama and horror, but the trailer seems more like a thriller from what I can see. **shoulder shrugs**  Looks can be deceiving.

From what I can ascertain Greta seems like a cat lady who is more in the business of collecting humans rather than furry friends.  She takes her kibbles and bits a.k.a. Purses and leaves it in places throughout the city then goes home where she lies in wait for the perfect victim.  Now, I don’t know about you but I thought we all learned from Jordan Peele’s GET OUT, that you “Neva Eva….eva, eva, eva” accept a glass of tea from any got damn body you just met.

And even the character Frances McMullen has never seen GET OUT, didn’t her momma tell her to only accept sealed drinks from folks you don’t know?  I wasn’t privy to a screening of the film, but I’m definitely questioning Frances home training.

What are your thoughts on the trailer movie lova’s?  Are you inclined to pay the ticket price to watch GRETA?  The average rating of this film is 5.6/10 according to Rotten Tomatoes.  If someone is willing to buy my ticket, I’ll check it out.  Other than that, I probably wait until it is available for free via on demand through my local cable network provider.

Peace Out - Sam
