AICN is saddened to report the passing of horror and supernatural writer Peter Straub. Straub was perhaps known among his many talents as a novelist and poet having written many classics including Julia (1975), Ghost Story (1979) and The Talisman in 1984, the latter of which is about to be adapted into a Netflix series by ‘Stranger Things’ Duffer Brothers. Mr Straub passed away peacefully at a hospital in Manhattan on September 4th aged 79 from complications that arose from a broken hip. I’m sure I speak for all at AICN when I say that Peter will be greatly missed. Please feel free to share some of your memories of Peter’s work in the talkbacks.

It's a sad day because my good friend and amazingly talented colleague and collaborator, Peter Straub, has passed away. Working with him was one of the great joys of my creative life.
