Searchlight Pictures has launched the official trailer for the ninth directorial effort from acclaimed filmmaker Sam Mendes’ EMPIRE OF LIGHT. The film is a love story set around a beautiful old cinema in the 1980s and stars Colin Firth, Olivia Coleman, Toby Jones, Michael Ward, Tom Brooke, and Tanya Moodle. The film is being released exclusively in cinemas on December 9th and is the first time Sam Mendes has directed a film from a screenplay he has written himself and looks like a love letter to classic cinema. I would definitely expect this to be a major player when it comes to awards season given the acting talent and direction involved. Let us know what you think in the talkbacks.
