I dig the vibe. I’m feeling a mix of PUMPKINHEAD and IT FOLLOWS.
The synopsis feels a bit more THE THING, however:
Evan (Issac Jay) joins a group of older looking teens as they unwittingly unleash an evil entity, while partying in the Joshua Tree Desert. All the entity needs is to separate them into groups of five and his deadly ritual is complete.
Ashleigh Morghan (Zoe) won the Special Jury Prize for Lead Actor at the 2018 Los Angeles Film Festival for this one. I haven’t seen her in the movie but I’ve already fallen in love with her dark curls!
Did the trailer grab anyone?
With the entity needing to separate them into groups of five I’m really worried that HEAD COUNT won’t have a large enough body count for me. Maybe groups of one, like every other horror movie??? I kid.
HEAD COUNT runs a crisp 90 minutes and heads to theaters and On Demand/Digital on June 14th.
